StorEdgeAI is developing a non-wires energy supply (NWES) technology capable of delivering heavy-duty electricity without requiring utility grid upgrades, at a lower cost than the US retail average, to any location via road or rail. This technology would provide regular power service to customers and places where local electric distribution is constrained or unavailable, unreliable, or the utility upgrades are prohibitively long and expensive. By using NWES, customers can instantly increase the load servicing capability, for example, from the existing 10-100kW utility feed to several MWs, to service either new electrification loads such as EV fleets or offset their energy use by substituting with 100% clean NWES. The NWES modules will charge from clean energy at a remote location, from a utility-scale renewable plant, for their proximity to customers and deliver power at a rate lower than the US average.
The NWES, therefore, decouples retail energy costs from the volatility of the power market, and it does not require extensive onsite civil infrastructure like legacy onsite solar or other generation.
