As Director of Development and Workforce Initiatives at the Philadelphia Energy Authority, Shonique Banks plays a pivotal role in refining programs, securing resources and support for marginalized populations most impacted by the high cost of energy inefficiencies yet benefit the least from the clean energy transformation in Philadelphia. Shonique is a dedicated reformer in creating equitable workforce solutions at historical Black and Brown institutions such as OIC of America and the Urban League and a 20-year veteran of workforce development, with a particular interest in under-represented populations. She has curated hundreds of jobs with companies like General Motors, DV Florist, McCormick, and Clemens Food Group, to name a few. Shonique holds a BA in Africana Studies from Rutgers University and an MA in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University. She has dedicated her professional life to creating equitable opportunities for marginalized populations; thus, Her mantra is "Equity is a verb"; meaningful change requires action and movement.
