Brad Dakake is responsible for originating commercial opportunities, working directly with customers to understand their needs, and quarterbacking deals from conception through contracting. In this role, he coordinates work with SunPower’s internal teams including design, estimating, construction, legal, O&M, etc. and serves as the conduit between the customer and the larger SunPower network. Prior to joining SunPower, Brad worked for Viridity Energy on the demand side of the electricity industry, helping large energy consumers reduce their demand during peak times and leading development of battery storage projects for PJM’s frequency regulation market. Before Viridity, Brad worked on the supply side of the industry as a member of Exelon Energy’s Key Accounts Team, providing commercial and industrial customers with electricity supply contracts. Brad also worked in the non-profit sector for 8 years prior to joining the energy industry, including serving overseas as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan and Moldova. Brad holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bioethics from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, where he double-majored in finance and operations.

Brad has closed deals across the US with public customers – including Baltimore County (32 MW) and Washington Metro (12 MW) – and private clients – including Walmart (23 MW), Verizon (10 MW), Comcast (5 MW), Grainger (4 MW), Bed Bath & Beyond (5 MW), Colgate-Palmolive (2 MW), Bose (1.7 MW), and others.
